So this year has been just a little bit rough. Nothing really notable has occurred, but we've just managed to get nickled-and-dimed to the point that I wasn't sure if the Viper was going to make it to Carlisle this year due to her inability to pass a state inspection because of worn tires and a constant check-engine light glitch. I needed $2,000 that I just didn't have laying around...
Well on Monday I was guided into my boss's office and asked to close the door behind me... "Oh this could be bad" I thought...
"I'm not sure if I'm supposed to tell you this or if someone else is," he started...
"Not getting any better" I thought...
"but the bonus payments have been determined for this year, and I wanted to let you know what yours is" he continued.
He then proceeded to give me a number that nearly knocked me out of my chair. I was literally speechless. I'm also getting a nominal cost-of-living increase, to top it all off!
So needless to say, the Viper's PCM has been removed and is being shipped to CA for reprogramming and new fuel maps - the check engine light will be a thing of the past, and she'll have a few more ponies to sling around due to leaner fuel maps which will compensate for the various aftermarket components. Better gas mileage and more performance should be the result.
When it gets back I'll order the BFGoodrich G-Force TA KDW2's and have already lined up a shop that can install those. An alignment and the required state inspection will also be on the menu!
And in July, the Viper will be primed and ready to prowl the Carlisle fairgrounds!
So, though none of them will ever see this, a heartfelt and sincere thank you to the folks at Taggart Global, LLC!! I got a call today asking if I was interested in interviewing for a potential job in my field, and told them, "Nope, I'm good."
