black walls or white walls?
« on: March 15, 2012 - 08:07:32 PM »
I ordered new tires today but im torn between running the whitewall outside or inside.  Anyone have an opinion on what would look best?

If your running the dog dish caps I'd go black, keep the look clean   :2cents:

Whitewalls in on dark cars. Could be whitewalls out on lighter colors.

I'm not much on white letters out on classic cars unless its OEM perfect stock tires/wheels.

It's completely up to you.  Personally, I don't care for plain black sidewalls unless it's a low profile tire.  A stock restoration with dog dishes and whitewalls looks good.  I've got a picture somewhere of a black Cuda with dog dishes and whitewalls....I like the look.  I assume you're talking about the car in your signature.  If you've got wider wheels and bigger tires then stock, I'd probably just run the black walls out.  If it were mine, I would have gotten reproduction Polyglass tires in a RWL.

Have the blackwall out on one side and the whitewall out on the other.  It will cost a little more to have the others switched back but you will be able to see what you like best.

Like the "Gangsta" walls on most anything older than 1962.

Musclecars IMO, deserve RWL if it came that way from factory and is period correct.

So you have the choice of raised white letters vs blackwall or are you talking whitewall tires?

IMO, if raised white letters, letters out.

If white walls, white walls in.

I know you already ordered them but redlines would look cool on your car....  :2cents:

redlines would look sweet but they were a little pricey for me.

It's those little steel hub caps, sometimes also called "poverty caps".  Used on police cars too.  :grinyes:

Can I make a suggestion that virtually any other make of tire is a better choice over T/As
