70 440 6 pack r/t clone project
« on: March 16, 2012 - 12:32:58 AM »
Hi there mopar people. I have been browsing this page for a while and like it. I am currently building my first mopar and probably will be needing some assistance along the way(thanks in advance for the help). A 70 Challenger has been my dream car since I was 12 and am excited and a little intimidated to be building one. I will post pics later.

I will definable get more pics up this summer. right now I am aiming for making her a driver for now with full restore in a couple of years. she is missing a lot of pieces though so going to be awhile to get her mobile.

Thanks everyone. Is there a way to find out the rarity of my challenger from the fender tag? I just realized mine was originally an A66 Burnt orange W/ a White vinyl top. Just wondering if the 440-6 R/T clone is a bad idea. original motor and trans are long gone though.

I like your tag readout.  That is one slick car!

I like the stripe delete on that color combo on the a66.

Nothing wrong with an r/t clone.
I would probably go back to the original exterior and interior though.
Just change out the drive train.

My two cents anyway.  That is one sweet colored car!!

I don't know how rare your color combo is, probably pretty rare, but I am in the same boat with a non-numbers matching.  Mine was originally a 383-4 car.  It is a 440-6 car now.  The car had a 440 in it 27 years ago when I bought it so I had no issues with it having a non-original engine.

correct me if I am wrong guys, but if the numbers don't match already, might as well put a cool engine in it.
