    My Old 70 Plymouth but new to the Forum

    Hello All

    I showed up on this forum with some Data plate questions on an old Plymouth I have had since 92. Lots of folks helped me get to know the status of my car and now that I am a member I look forward to getting to know the Members even better as I work on the old car.  I will be asking for more help while working on it from the great members here on the Forum. Chime in want to help me out with some reccomendations. I thought I would make it a street ready car and update it with disc brakes and suspension mods to handle the curves rather then the straights. The car was Orange. I bought it as you see it in the photo from one of my wife's scrapbooks.

    Your thoughts?

    Welcome to the site. It looks like you're starting out with quite a bit better car from the get-go and that's a nice place to be. As for suggestions- make it what YOU want it to be. Enjoy!  :wave:

    Thank you all for the warm welcome.

    Soon as can, I will upload some pics of the tear down I started before I deployed. I do not have shop to work in here in Missouri so now the car is waiting on me to convert my hay barn to something I can use as shop. I have a lot of work to do before I can start putting it back together.

    I will be looking for tips on mods to make this a good driver. The car is pretty straight but I will take it down to metal to fill the dings and likely update the interior.

    I am not to knowledgable on the Plymouth line but I like the looks of the one I got. I would like to bring it back for use in the summer for nice drives on the back roads here in MO. The 440 engine would take too much fuel to use all year anyway. That said I will likely just tinker on it when I get back and have the time.

    Not sure I want to try and figure out the carb set up. Seems like a 4 Barrel would be a lot easier to work with then the two barrels I have but then I would need to cough up the money for a different intake and a 4 barrel carb. In the long run it may not pay off? This forum looks like a good place to think out loud about what different things I can do. Thanks again

    dont over think that part,

     most of the stock components work quite well with minor mods ,

     like Urethane bushings,and adjustable shocks, and maybe a firm feel steering box ,
    cheap easy and stay stock....as close as possible and be a nice driver :thumbsup:

    Thanks for the Welcome. I started out Air force then switched to Army back in 92. In about a year I hope to be finished and starting on a different path.

    I purchased a Farm in Central Mo and plan on becoming the Gentlemans farmer type. Just work the property and fix up the car and the old buildings.

    Actually I just want a quiet life for awhile, about 10 years worth. Thanks you for your Navy Service.

    Sounds like a good plan and a little less expensive. I would like to upgrade to disc brakes though.

    Air Force to Army, holy cow that had to be culture shock! Helo pilot? Again welcome to the forum, enjoy the folks here and the farm. Funny how folks who are ex-military and were in very Type A jobs just want peace and quiet when we're done! My idea of 'excitement' now is counting my dogs' poops in the yard in the morning!
