Crazy steering ?
« on: March 18, 2012 - 09:53:02 PM »
My buddy comes over today and we bleed my steering which is all new, and by new I guess that means reman as it is from autozone. As we are turning the wheel back and forth the wheel gets harder and harder to turn. Looks like all the air is out of the system so I start the car to see how it works and the wheels turn hard to the left by themselves immediately. The car is off the ground and the wheel is real hard to turn with or without the ps belt on. This is all new to me so any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I connected them as they were before and didn't have this problem.

There is a fixture that is mounted on top of the box with 2 small bolts I believe they are 3/8 or 7/16, loosen those 2 bolts & with wheels hanging free move that fixture forward or backward until the steering stops moving in either direction, tighten the bolts & you should be good to go.
