This sentence near the bottom worries me:

"Styling is already in progress, with inside reports saying it is much more modern than the Challenger, with only a few “Barracuda cues.” "

I personally plan on being in the market for a new car in 2 years, tops.  I'm going to hold out for some final designs on the Barracuda by Chrysler, but at this point I'm not holding my breath.  Mother Mopar has revived a few popular names - Avenger was a popular name to my generation, Charger of course, and now the Dart - and all were total duds.  The Challenger was the only one "done right," and I honestly don't expect lightning to strike twice.

Sad to admit it, but I highly doubt my next car will be from Chrysler.  I'll keep my fingers crossed though - for sure.

personally I like the new charger. I prefer it over the challenger, which looks fat and bloated to me.
Sorry, but thats just my opinion. To each his own.
Would love to see a new hi po car tip the scales under 3500 pounds.

I've always liked the Charger.  It just doesn't deserve to bear the name "Charger."  Intrepid?  Stratus?  Plenty of other names that could be used without insulting a classic.

If the 2015/2016 Barracuda comes out as a 4-door, I'm going to DRIVE to Detroit and slug somebody in the face.

I'm still trying to get over the "dodge barracuda" thing. Just ain't right! That being said, I guess either of the last two are ok. Wonder if it will be electric?

The newest charger is a retro design and so is the challenger... If they don't design the barracuda (assuming they even are designing one) to also have a retro look then I'm afraid our modern mopar muscle cars will disappear.  Depending on what they do next the new challenger could eventually become a classic for buyers to hold onto.  I for one will not be interested in any mopar that isn't a RWD, retro styled vehicle, with a V8.  I feel 90% of people would agree with me... hopefully they keep the muscle alive!

Nothing wrong with the New Camaro out this spring and the Mustang. If the Cuda turns out like the Dodge Fart, at least I have 2 other options!

I agree with that idea. I think that, at the moment, they're positioning Dodge as the sporty division and Chrysler as the luxury division.

 :iagree:

IF the Barracuda turns out to be a flop and IF I don't get some major pay increase in the next 2 years, my next car will very likely be a Camaro.  I REALLY like those cars.  I've seen one for sale recently in the mid 30's (used) with over 600 horsepower at the wheels.   :22yikes:

600 at the wheels? That's a ton of horsepower!
