That looks like it just has a black carpet.  it's a 70 dash & leather seats, i am guessing that that pic is a PRT5 interior.   T7 will be a little darker.

Credit means you get money back (i.e. the cost of the car is lowered) b/c you opted to get cheapo vinyl instead of leather.

(E) means it's extra, but is a credit.  Ditto the ($44.40) in parenthesis.  Parenthesis means it's a credit.  Not an extra, like all the other options that have prices.
How come the other options do not have credit along with the extra cost :dunno: do you know this to be exactly right or just a guess :1zhelp:
Seems to be a bit more investigating required :clueless: :2thumbs:

Chestnut  :clueless:

That picture is Burnt Orange.
Chestnut is the same as Tan, just named differently and had some Black parts used in the interior that were not available in Tan in 1971. Like a Black floor console and black seat backs. :2thumbs:

I'm thinking that there is a shade difference between T5 in 1970, and T7 in 1971.  The number was used to indicate a different, if not darker shade.

well the guys moved so i put a add up on craigslist looking for him and he called!. he was dissapointed though as he thought i was someone who offered him a job before. well he said he wanted at least 10g, i said thats more than i would like to pay as i can find other cars cheaper.. well he left me a message today saying that i should come out and take a look at the car again as he is going to sell it now. he said if he doesnt hear from me in a few days he will list it on craigslist and kajiji. so i need to go take a look at it again and see what all it need. i will grab more pictures but i think its worth more 8 max? i think he said he has a 340 that goes with the car, and he has a 440 for the charger he has. so let me know the key places to check out on the car. im sure it would have a build sheet as the cars never been part. the only other problem is he bought the car 25 years ago and i think he still has the bill of sale but he never registered it in his name. i was able to get the vin and i did a vin search in canada and it didnt come up stolen, but where should i double check the vin numbers on the car so i can call the insurance place and make sure it wasent stolen? pics would be great. would you guys go for this car or wait for a real cuda not a barracuda grand coupe

Why were some '71s called Barracuda and some 'Cuda? What defined the difference?

There are three types actually. Base Model Barracuda (VIN starts with BH), Premium Model Gran Coupe (VIN starts with BP), and Sport Model 'Cuda (VIN starts with BS). Each type had difference, some subtle, some not.  The tail panel is your biggest clue: the Base Model was body color, the Gran Coupe was Argent (A textured silver), and the Cuda was satin Black. The Cuda's got the HP motors (340-4, 340-6, 383-4, 440-4, 440-6 & 426 Hemi). A 383-4 was optional on the Base and Gran Coupe models. There are lots of other differences, but that should get you started.
