    Viscous clutch fan

    YES, they do work when used with a fan shroud. I recommend a 7 Blade fan though. Be careful, as there is one I think from Mopar Perf. that doesn't offer the correct clearance between the radiator and fan. There's threads on this somewhere.

    While talking to my wifey this morning she said when i give my daughter our car in a year she will let me buy a new Challenger!! :wow: :bigsmile: I am taking advatage of this and marking this satement on the calendar!

    If not I will save a few pennies longer and go for the new cuda if they are gonna make it! I still have a back-up Toyota Tacoma.

    I've never seen or heard of a 7 blade vicious fan. They are 5 blade design.They do work very good. I installed one on Cudaguys car last week , I used the thermal short shaft clutch. It is seeming to keep his engine temps around 182 F or so right now and staying steady. It was 85 degrees outside and I left his car on a 1100 rpm idle for 15 minutes inside my shop.

    The factory used 7 blade Viscous fans in most HD trucks / Chryslers & performance cars but they were ne tech in 70

    Keeping to stock with Fan Clutch.

    Had to replace the Fan Clutch last yr.
    Water temp would almost peg. Now 1/4 temp.

    If the Fan Clutch spins more than 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 revolutions by hand replace.


    Purchased it at Pep Boys, there are two sizes so check the space between rad to pully.

    I think Al is referring to the blades not being all evenly spaced apart from each other.
