2am cruise to work
« on: June 13, 2002 - 10:55:34 PM »
about 6 years ago while I was working as a garbageman. I had to be at work by 3am.
I was cruising down the road to the highway in my 440 6 pac challenger about 85 in a 45 zone, just before the highway I see lights in my rear view mirror so I pulled over just past the on ramp on the highway.
The highway patrol officer comes up to the window and asks if I knew how fast I was going and where I was going. I told him and then he wanted to look over the car. he told me he knew the previous owner who was a chp officer and always wanted to race this car.
So after about 10 min of talking he asked if I would race him in his chevy caprice cop car to the next exit!
I had to ask if he was joking and he said he wasnt.
since nobody was on the highway I said sure, its about 5 miles to the next exit were I get off to go to work.
So we got side by side and went for it. needless to say by the time I got to the exit he was about 1/2 a mile behind me. never seen him again but it sure was fun.
