BofA cooperated because of the bad publicity.  Boohoo on them.  That's all they are is bad news.  Glad I jumped from that bank last year.

And I agree, they did not treat that car like it was their own.  They knew it was stolen.  If they cannot prove it was stolen, they usually charge possession of stolen property.  Much easier to prove because they had the car.  The hard thing is they have to prove "knowledge" it was stolen.  Im sure with interviews and investigative work, it shouldn't be that hard to do.

This clears up my confusion, thanks.  One would think if the neighbor saw the guys the neighbor can ID the guys and get them for actually stealing the car, yes?  :clueless:

I've got an aluminum bat I can donate when you find the thieves.

My offer still stands.

Just sayin'.

A friend was burglarized and they caught the guys and recovered the goods which were damaged.  They had a hearing in court to determine a cash settlement from the crooks and they had to pay.  Might want to persue this and get them for some big bucks. New paint, tires and a tranny are going to add up big time.

Is there something we at C-C.com can do to recognize Detective Erickson for his fine work?
Maybe a t-shirt and 'thank you' from the forum?

Laurie, that's a very nice gesture of kindness from you.
I do know where he sometimes "hangs out" so I will definitely pass the message along to him.

And if we can do the T-shirt I'm in.
Actually I need one too, as I bought four shirts and realized I gave them all away.......now I don't have one  :bricks1: :roflsmiley:

I told Aaron and Sims, anything that they need that was damaged, that I have is theirs. I have sheds full of Challenger parts still and told them take whatever they need.

 Thanks everyone   :2thumbs:

Its one thing to have an idea, its another to lead the charge. I'm willing to be the point (wo)man on this.
If we can find out what size tshirt Det Erickson wears, and find a new CC tshirt somewhere, I'll do what ever
is necessary to get it to him!  :2thumbs:

Glad to hear they got it back.  I checked out a stripped Challenger getting worked on in Haverhill a Month or so ago thinking it may be this one.  It was a 71 though according to the numbers.

SB72, you are correct that they could be prosecuted for the burglary if the witness can ID them.  Sounds like the witness said the "same crew came back and towed the car."  But can he ID their faces.

So BofA is making the winterizing company pay for damages.  That would be nice, but if they don't, BofA should do it.  If its true, they obstructed the investigation by not disclosing the company they contracted with.  The company was doing work on behalf of BofA.

just here for a quick update and shame on me for letting it go for this long. We (dad and I) got the car back little damage here and there but nothing out of my capability (Blown tranny, body damage etc.) so we got some copensation for the damage, at least enough to get a strange engineering dana, custom built tranny from 727specialist, and a hotchkiss total vehicle suspension kit

So I sincerely apologize for slacking on you all but I dont have much time being in high school and having a job and all. But the real message here is THANK YOU! I feel like i wouldent have gotten my baby back if it wasnt for everyone on the forum and I apologize if you feel like Ive been un-appreciative. Quite the oppsite i couldent thank you guys enough. from now on I'm going to try to keep it real and get on here more often and try to be a more active member in the CC community. Thanks! -Sims.  :ylsuper:  :smokin:
