Well I figured I would update the thread for anyone looking for info in the future....
I ended up installing the computer under the battery tray using 1/4-20 threadserts so that the battery mounted flush. The threadserts worked perfectly because the standoff amount let the computer sit off the battery tray ripple on the bottom side. The harness to the computer has great access and is only noticed if pointed it. By luck the harness is the perfect length to the throttle body. I ended up only shortening 1 cable - the tach adapter cable. The fuel pump harness was also the perfect length. I know it was all luck, but its almost like F.A.S.T. designed the lengths perfectly for my application
Anyhow, I mounted the fuel pump to the passenger side frame rail near the wheel housing. It has great access and runs along side the original line. I also used the hose that came with the kit for my feed line and my original line as my return line. The handheld I still am working on, I cant seem to find the right location yet. I am thinking about making a collapsible bracket and installing it in my single speaker dash hole (dont have a radio) But all in all, it was a pretty painless install. The biggest problem I really had was modifying the sending unit for the 3/8 return line feed - I forgot to weld the modified unit up 100% before installing it and discovered a HUGE gas leak after I filled my tank
As for a review - simply put, I love this thing. My idle is incredibly smoother, its a night and day difference. I use to idle at 950rpm and be choppy and the shifter would rattle around. Now, I have it idling at 850 and its sooooo smooth. I no longer have the off idle bog I would randomly get with my Demon carb. The car has always started quickly, but now it idles great until its warmed up....it also stops smoother now. As for power gain (or rather power recovered), I havent really laid into it yet since its in adaptive learning but I have done a couple of small pulls and it feels stronger. The only complaint I have is that the fuel pump is pretty loud, however that isnt even close to a reason to not buy this kit. All in all, I highly recommend this kit and would buy it again
