New diorama---New style
« on: March 25, 2012 - 11:44:05 AM »
While in the local Hobby Lobby I noticed some shawdow boxes of some sports themed displays and had an idea. I am running out of shelf space and a wall display like this is just the way to go. This first one is a lot of trial and error but this is what I have so far. I have a ceiling that slides in to complete the box but it makes it a bit to dark inside so I am experimenting with some lighting. I am making some flourecent light fixtures that will be ran by some AA bateries to highlight the inside. I also made this wide enough so I can put a car in it, but  this might be a bit over crowded. I will post some pics with the car after I get it built. (Chevy alert).      :grinno:      I will finish the face of it with a picture frame of old barn wood.  The next one will be all mopar inspired for me. A few different directions I can go with these so this will be fun. Thought I would post what I have so far---more when I get it done.

Looks sweet. Are you photoreducing the posters and signs, or do you buy them?

Thanks.  I get all the wall posters and things from out of the Summit genuine hotrod hardware catalog. Perfect 1/24 scale adds. Just cut and paste. The boxes I make out of card board and cut the logos out of a Jeg's catalog.  Here are some pic's with a car in it. Kinda undecided ----with or without the car. Might have to hinge the front cover so I can change to either one.

I say without. Too crowded with it in there.

Alternately you can make a bigger garage for the car to fit :)

Nice work mate.

Looks great!  Really love the details!
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.
