I hope to get to the DMV this next week Mike!!!

It's starting to become a week-end routine to go out towards the lakes and run the farm land.

Any of these may join on occasion.

Well the day finally came and I took her out for her maiden voyage and shake down.

Not one single leak, loose belt, oil burning, creak, carb stumble, electrical issue, etc. The Cuda went like a scalded dog and she can really get up and go. The only area I'd like to improve is the shifter mechanism which I will rebuild because it was too easy to go from 1st into 4th. Other than that I love the way I can drive normally and it sounds like any other car with the Dynomax VT mufflers but when you open her up WOW! she announced get the hell out of the way. Unfortunately this sound will make me drive like a bastard because the fun pedal will constantly be calling my name.

Here is a short vid that I got and yeah I know the reverse lights are not working because I think the reverse light harness was not hooked up.

Enjoy!

Trust me Brad, I fear those tires won't last long at all. Sad fact is that you cannot get them anymore.

Guess I better start looking.

Thanks guys!

And I forgot to mention, for my rear tires, I'm using the exact same brand of tires your using. Wished I could locally find some.  :pullinghair: :stomp:

Just finished rebuilding the entire hurst shifter.

Boy those springs, especially the reverse spring is a real PITA to get in there with the washer.

Anyway, I'm glad that is over and back to slamming gears!!!

Well believe it or not I just went through this entire thread and relived it, shaking my head at times. It continues to be a learning experience.

Status to date: The car is somewhat registered in Calif but the Calif DMV wants a written letter from the FLA DMV to verify if the Cuda was ever registered in FLA. This is a problem because the title was from Maryland and I bought it from a guy in Florida. Live and learn. Sidenote: got insurance from American collectors insurance and it has worked out well albeit it took them quite awhile to get back to me.

The new problem to date is that I paid to have the steering column fully rebuilt, now I find that the turn signal switch does not want to cooperate with me and the right rear brake light will not come on no matter what. I can get the parking lights to work and the right rear parking light will come on. I traced the wires from the brake pedal switch all the way to the brown/green wire at the kick panel and I have perfect continuity so it has to be the turn signal switch. Dave will send me one soon and I'll get that sorted.

I have to say looking back that I truly appreciate all the folks on this site that has helped me move my Cuda project along. Without you guys I would be positively stumped on several aspects because I can tell you unlike other sites devoted to other car types - there is a huge lack of info/pics on how stuff goes together on mopars. So I am truly grateful.

So now the Cuda has the steering column pulled apart with the can off waiting for the new TSS and once that is done, just  a trip to the CA DMV for Vin verification and a trip to the shop for alignment and I can safely say that she is roadworthy.

I know Mike has been chomping at the bit for a Chesboro run and it won't be long!!!
