I hate interior work!!!

Finally got the rear window molding on, wow what a pain in the azz. What I will tell you is that if you have a choice to do the molding before putting the rear window in, I'd do it. Cramped spaces are a PITA.

So gotta get the rear quarter windows in, side windows in and whammo we are almost complete!

If I have time - I might pull the valve covers off and check to see if I can quiet down the valve train at all.

Houston, we have ebrake now!!!

Not exactly the OEM look but it will work and I don't have to go back to the body shop weld and repaint, etc...

Can you make the De Anza show next Sunday with the car?

Bring it even if it's not totally done.

I don't think the police would like an unregistered car with no plates driving around.

Believe me I would if it were possible but too much red tape at this time.

Update: I finally got gotten rid of the valvetrain gremlins.

The story goes -  I paid my machine shop guy to build the entire motor even though I had mentioned to him earlier that he could build the short block and I'll finish the long block. This way if any problems arose I could go back to him and he agreed. Well my guy decided to not answer my calls and kept some pretty wacky hours. Fast forward, broke in the motor and I could tell that the valvetrain was excessively noisy. I made sure there was no exhaust leak and there was none.

Got a old friend to come down and eyeball/verify what I saw. We went through each and every cylinder and basically had to reset the lash to the tune of 1 1/8 to 1 1/2 turns to get the correct lash. So basically what I am saying is that my machine shop guy was afraid and set the lash wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too loose.

After the lash was set the motor sounds like a dream now.

Now it's full steam ahead!!!  :2thumbs: :burnout:

Learn from my MISTAKE!!!!

Had to rip the dash apart to remove a stubborn fuel gauge that just did not want to work. After I pulled it out it seems that someone fried it as the wire came off the post. Now to find the replacement, hopefully I will have one on Tuesday!

So what was the mistake? Not checking the connections/wiring before installing?

Sorry to hear about the PITA problem.  :(

Tom

Yep the big mistake was not testing the entire gauge cluster before installing.

Good times...

Good to hear you're making progress.   :2thumbs:

Now let's make a Chesboro/Callero run once you get these bugs worked out.

I hear ya Mike but without a gas gauge it would be quite the fun run.

It's getting real close. I should have the gauges issue wrapped up on Tues.

The side windows on the other hand.....

That is the DCS Tuff Wheel which has a hard feel. It's not too bad but over time I'm sure I'll have to get the one from PG Classics which  I'm not that happy about due to some prior fun I've had with them.
