    Looks like I have great news. I got another fuel gauge to work and I may swap this out for another one tomorrow as this one is ok but the needle is faded and has some imperfections.

    I'm going to do a writeup on gauge testing as I guess I have learned all I can recently.

    Dang, nip one problem get another.

    Now I have to adjust the power steering valve body as it almost ripped the steering wheel out of my hand by whipping right.

    So let me get this straight. If you loosen the steering valve body screws and tap on the end plug I should be able to stop the automagic right turn when I start the Cuda?

    So far I have backed off the bolts and tapped on the end plug and I still get a massive right turn on starting the motor. I have to shut her off quick as I don't want it to go to the stops and pop an o-ring. As well, I have the front wheels off the ground before I start the motor each time.

    Here is the part I am not getting. How would hitting an end cap or the screws for the valve body do anything since they have threads? How are you going to move a valve one way or the other?

    Am I missing something?

    There;s a toggle that sticks up into that casting. Loosen the bolts off and move the casting towards the firewall this time and then try it. It will take a few tries,

    Thanks Runcharger - I finally figured it out after I kept looking at a pic which pointed at the control valve body screws.

    Basically do not loosen the control valve body screws (you only tap on them), you need to loosen the steering valve body screws. Then tap on the endcap to push it down(remove right turn) or the control valve body screws to move it up(remove left turn).

    Hope this helps others as I was confused trying to loosen the wrong screws and got nowhere - doh!

    Well I can say "SUCCESS!!!" after burning the hell out of my thumb on the headers I got the power steering to behave like it should and it moves smooth as silk now. A bit of tapping and restarting the Cuda and that was it!

    I need to wait till she cools down so I can get near that plug wire to tighten the last bolt down to 16 ft lbs.
