Well great news today finally I figured out what the heck happened with my vacuum. Ughh one problem then the next.
The story begins with redoing the lash which my machinist was paid to do, doh! Check and done. The car now has a valvetrain that sounds like a Mopar should. Once we put everything back together I lost my vacuum - it went down to 7.5 and was a bit sporadic. I was perplexed, did setting the lash correctly have anything to do with that I thought? Well long story short, after trying to find any sort of vacuum leak (none found), or find some sort of spark issue (all plug wires set and in right order). I finally figured out that maybe I bumped my distributor when I put the tall valve covers back on. Yep that was it. The timing got retarded and I lost my vacuum. I set the timing back and wow the throttle is snappy as ever. I put her at 16 degrees initial and I get 20 from the distributor so this should be a real rocket ride.
I'm so freakin happy as I thought I might have to tear the motor down or at the very least break down the valve train again.
