Funny thing is their website said they had it, show up in person = no go.

Cool! I'll head over there today and pick one up!

Autozone carries it, at least they did 8 months ago.

Got a bit further. Found an alternator, installed an intake (powder coated, got the power steering pump lined up).

I even have the starter all ready to put on, might get the tranny mounted up tonite then the starter!

Thanks guys, I just got my hedman headers so wish me luck.

I wish the car can stay this clean for a long time but I know this is unrealistic.

Brian,
Just wanted to say, your pic with the shifter rods installed on your tranny helped my problem. I had the link for 3-4 upside down  :screwy: going off another thread that had OD tranny. (I'm getting ready to install my engine/tranny combo soon)

And just to add, I have Headman headers and they worked great for clearance issues, on my 440 anyway.

Thanks for the up to date posts/pics. Please keep em coming as you progress. I'm lovin it!!!  :ylsuper:

Glad I can be of help!

Unfortunately the Hedman headers I got (78038) did not fit like they should. Now I wonder if it's the delta of the 440source super stealth heads.

I'm kinda stuck because it's the number 2 tube which does not tuck under enough to clear the power steering gear box. I could take a hammer to it or I can return it and hope that I have the same luck that MoparDave did with his latest build. Right now it's leaving a gap of about less than 1/4". Guess I'll call Summit tech support in the morning and see what they say.

I keep looking at this pic and wish I had this experience:

Well I can give an update, I do have another set coming so I can try them out and see if I got a bad one.

But I also found out that the tailshaft is shifted towards the passenger side about 2 1/4" which will give a little more room for the #2 pipe. How much is anyone's guess but I'll update the thread when I find out.

Please do Brian,
I'm curious myself as I hope to go power steering some day.

Thanks,

Well after sending one set of Hedman headers back and getting another which sadly was no different. I set to beating the living bejesus out of my number 2 tube to clear the power steering gear box and then later the passenger side needed a tiny dent to clear the new Brewers bellhousing.

At least that is done and now I can focus on getting my car back and slamming it all inside!
