dash install question
« on: April 01, 2012 - 04:26:23 PM »
Can I install my dash without dashpad? I am waiting on the dashpad to arrive and need to get dash/ column/wiring in. I have no windshield in and was hoping this would make it possible to do. Any thoughts?

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

I have done this also.
Dash frame stays in and the dash can go on later.
All the washers are on the bottom and side.

I'd appreciate some photos along the way, since I'd like to try this someday.

I think you'll still be cursing.  It's soooo easy to put in as a complete assembly.  If the frame is out of the car already it's a no brainer.  It will be a lot quicker if you just waite.  :2cents:

There are nuts in places that are hard to reach when the dash is in.

The only good part about being a mechanic with lots of practice being stuck under a dash and lots of neat expensive tools to aid.I just have this damn may 8th completion deadline for our vacation at the ocean city md car show/cruise.I would feel a crap load better seing dash in with wiring up! I dont want to keep waiting for the pad only to put off the wiring!!!!! I will post up more pics under my resto thread soon.
