    That's what mine had in it when I got my car ( mine was a /6 car). The shippers were nice enough to scatter it all over the ground doing burnouts with my car. The driveshaft too. Funny 440 and a 7 1/4 don't mix...who knew? :lol:

    Someone had the know-how to put in a 440, but not change the rear end eh?

     Ya I guess? I was planning on changing it anyhow so not a real big deal. I just took off the drum brakes and tossed the rest in the scrap yard, leaf springs and all. The cover had a few extra " lumps " in it :lol:

    Alright, I finished installing the Dana 60!  :woohoo: 

    The installation went pretty smooth with only a couple of minor hiccups. One was my bending and flaring of the brake lines, I made one line about a ¼ inch to short, and when I tightened the line it pulled the flair into the fitting and started leaking, so I had to re-bend and flair a new line.  The other was the emergency brake lines, I went with the Doctor Diff econ disk brakes, and the line did not come with directions, so routing them was a pain, as was taking of the old lines, lots of soaking the bolts with penetrating oil, cleaning and chasing the threads before removing them and they still fought me the whole way.

    Other than that, it was a lot off cleaning and painting the parts. Looks good and works even better.

    What  a difference the 4:10 gears make.   I got my first “chirp” in second gear!

    Nothing beats a Dana 60 for brute strength. That's on my wishlist for my Challenger. I have a 7 1/4 rear end in my '68 Barracuda. It used to have a slant-6. It's one tough rear end as the car now has a mildly built 360 with an A-904 automatic tranny and I have thrashed the mess out of that rear end (burn-outs/donuts galore) with no problems. It was rebuilt before the 8 cylinder was installed, but never upgraded to a bigger rear end. Maybe one day it will self-grenade, but it's proving to be Mopar tough as it's been pounded for about ten years now with no problems!!  :2thumbs:

    I got my brakes from him as well.  He uses the Cordoba 10.75 disk brakes.  The come with bracket that you install.  As for the pinion snubber in mounts on the rear end, if you are talking about the pinion plate on the body, I’m not sure how you fit it..
