Anyone running the Royal Purple brand of oil?  More specifically the HPS or XPR by Royal Purple?

Most stores only stock the VR1 in the 20W50. Not really what you want in street motor, particularly one that sees some colder weather use. 10W30 is available, but I've never seen it stocked.

I've still got the Comp Cams 30 weight break in oil in my motor, but after some shake down miles, it will be getting Brad Penn Grade 1 10W30. $7/qt from Amazon.

My next choice would be Valvoline Not Street Legal Race Oil. Loaded with zinc. Generally a special order item from Napa.

Also available in synthetic

This is coming from a guy who just wiped a cam.

Bart, 2 years (maybe 3 by now) ago Advance had a BIG sale on this. As I recall like 2.49 a quart, I bought enuff to last a couple years. Of course I had to hit a few locations - there was a limit on how many you could buy.

So ZDDP additive is not a good source for zinc? Sounds like it's better to get it in the oil...
