I really really want to have a cargasm for this Viper, but I guess I gotta wait to see it in person.  I just wish...it was a little more different.

Many Viper fans don't care for Gen III/IV versions, but when this sucker came out in 2002, I was BLOWN AWAY!  Too bad it was for competition use only:

Pretty iconic shapes actually, but Ive seen them many times from Xbox racing games.
I think the Viper holds the record at the ring for a production car. Somewhere in the 7:20s but I could be wrong. I think the GTR is also in the 7:20s.

Yeah the Viper holds the 'Ring Record, but I'm not sure what Laguna Seca is about...  Except that it's an awesome track...  I'm wondering if there are other layouts hidden elsewhere.

And yes I can't WAIT to see it in person myself.  I kinda doubt any will be at Carlisle this year, but we'll see...  (If so, there will probably be a constant mob around it!)

its a really accomplished and amazing car when you think about it. And you can bet they will have the 7 minute barrier broken by this time next year. It doesnt get the credit it deserves against some of the other exotics imo.
And to think...here I am trying to sell my 2005 Ram SRT-10, in great condition with 50k miles on it, and my local toyota dealer offers me $15k on trade for it for a new toyota, when he has an 06 tacoma sitting out front with 60k miles on it they are asking $19k for. 
Had it for sale for 3 months and the best offer Ive had is $17k? I guess its the 10 mpg's.

I love the new design and glad it looks more like the Gen 2 GTS coupe! Now I have to start saving my money so I can park one next to my 2001 Viper. Oh and the reason for the Seca picture in the console is because the Viper holds the lap record there for a production car at 1:33, and as stated the Nurburgring is in there because the Viper holds the record there for a production car at 7:12! There are actual production versions of the record setting cars both a Laguna Seca Edition and Nurburgring Edition, well actually there are 2 Nurburgring Editions, one from the 7:22 lap set back in 2008 and one (two color schemes, as there were two different colored cars at this record attempt event) for the new record.

The few times I looked at trading in my Viper, I too got really low figures for it.  I think that as far as dealerships are concerned, they consider it a low-market vehicle that will probably take forever to sell even WITH a low-ball price.  So I think they offer the low value figuring that if you DO go for it, they can probably auction it off and still make a few bucks.  OR, it'll scare you away and they won't have to worry about it.    I think that's what the last dealership did to me - basically just got me to go away.

But now I have a new goal - keep my Viper until I can trade it in on one of THESE!!!

72Hemi - got any pictures of your '01?  I really wanted an 01 or 02, but people wanted SO MUCH MONEY for them, that I had to settle for a highly modified 2000.

Keep in mind that's 640 naturally aspirated HP.  Throw on a super charger or some turbos, and you can easily hit 1000.
