new girl new york
« on: April 04, 2012 - 05:51:18 PM »
Hi there new to the site but love cuda's...just got my first as a present from my father....life long dream and don't dare ask how long that is. She is a 66 fast back in the fire red/orange enamel paint (not sure what the real color name was). I know the moderator's said something about gobblygook names....hope mine doesn't qualify...I am first a vanner (been doing the van shows thing for years now) and also loves vans...so naturally VANNERPIRE is my not so clever combination..i have a basic understanding on how to fix things...aka change my own brakes, oil, plugs, that sort on my vans...parts of cuda are basically the same but apparently alot more difficult to find at a reasonable price; so was looking for any help anyone can lend me in their expertise of finding parts....fixing things....and any groups that are in upstate ny for shows and such. Thanks  :swaying: :jumping:

That's what I was thinking. Was Tor Red even available in 66?

Hi Vannerpire!  Welcome!

Nice Barracuda!  Vans, eh?  Are we talking newer or older vans?  I'm into the older, 70's style vans.  I was at the World of Wheels Boston and got the movie "The Van" (has Danny Devito) and CB Hustlers because both movies have nice vans in them form the 70's.  I took a pic of a nautical themed van if you curious you can check it out at the link.  Also did a model van to mimic Dick Landy's DLI van, didn't do the lettering though.  Also did a model of the van from the Gumball Rally, the one with a 200 gallon gas tank.

Enjoy your time here!

golden voyager? your name isn't pete is it? lol thanks for the warm welcomes...yeah the older style volkswagons are my favorite...camping with the moonroof open  :2thumbs:  right now looking to redo a 1979 ford as a demented alice in wonderland theme....have the name insanity picked out for it....as far as the cuda...seriously debating leaving her the tor red....or going for purple....course my father would prefer the red or if i had to change her...white with the blue details.....not going for classic on her...since most of the interior is gone...would like to do more of a macabe feel to it...and  :clapping: for another girl...get sooo tired of being told i have no business in a garage it's nice to see a female on here that is in to cars. and a picture of one of my old vans...my new project...and what happens if you fall asleep at our campsite. lol harmless fun

Ha, Pete is the Golden Voyagers' owners name, I'm Phil.  Do you know Pete? (Or Captain Pete as he likes to be called.)  Pretty wacky guy, in a nice way.  Very friendly.  He's big into the van cruises.

Cool vans, btw.

Hey, did you see the van that was on Ebay that Kurt Cobain did a drawing of Kiss on the side?  High bid got up to $30,100 but didn't meet reserve.  Another site said it got to $99,999 but didn't the reserve of $150,000!!!  :faint:
