Hello again,

I just received the official word yesterday, and we will not be able to produce the convertible panels at this time.

We have been trying to find a way to get it done, but we just did not get enough orders from the public this time.

We will try again at a later date.

How many orders do you need?

How far apart were you on orders from the last attempt?

I just don't get it, is it that there aren't enough people with 40 year old panels that need replaced, or is it the cost that has kept the orders down? Thats not that much money for something that makes such a striking impact on the apearence of a car, especialy on a convertible!

:iagree:   Nice panels would make a striking impact when the car's parked with the top down. I think alot of people are a bit hesitant to put up the whole cost at once (even if the checks aren't being cashed). Also, other than the forums, I didn't see any advertisements (mags, etc) promoting a pre-order/buy for the vert rear panels. Maybe not everyone with a vert is on a forum. I'd be curious to know if Ola's registry members had wind of this.

i dont think its about the product as much as it is about the capitol needed for the tooling. We tried to step up and commit but it is still to much of a gap for the initial order.

You're right!

I'm preparing a quote for a small plastic housing and tooling alone for it was over $24,000 dollars.

Our only option now is Just Dashes, which the grain won't look right and I hear, makes things tighter and more chances to rub on each other.

*sigh*

I'm considering using a pair of Palco panels to go with the Metro door panels I bought years ago. I'd really like to check them out in person before committing to that route. There's got to be a way to spark more interest in these.

John, the Palco rear panels are what I have now. They are not even close to matching the front Metro panels that I bought! I would hold off unless you you don't have any panels at all and really need a set.

Jim, thanks for your input. I still have all 4 of my 43 year old panels in the car. They're just getting worse and worse ever year. I guess I'll hold off for now like you suggested......Thanks again

I have a question, if and when you try this again, will everybody that sent pre orders be notified if we want to reorder or will we have to keep an eye out for imformation on taking orders for a 2nd try?
Thanks,
Jim
