1970 challenger rallye hood

so i got my hood out last night to start some work on it and i noticed on both sides of the hood it has a small valley/dip in the flat area in front of the scoops? are those suppose to be there??

funny i stumbled across this.

the answer is, i'm not sure  :rofl:

when my body guy was straightening out my hood, he pointed out that very same thing to me.
not thinking twice. i told him to straighten it. i just figured there were 2 "valley/dip" in front of
the scoops. never gave it much thought till now. when i was younger, hanging out with the
guys,  :smokin: i use to sit on the hood. could be from that, everybody sits on the hood back then.
or, did they come that way?

anyone else? what's your hood look like?

Looked at my hood just now and didn't see any kind of dip by the scoops.  Maybe it was caused by sitting on the hood, who knows?

yeah i am not sure either. i have looked at many pics and some cars look like the do have a dip and some dont. depends on the angle. but i have the hood sanded down and you cant really see the dip unless you feel it.
