Window Hardware List
« on: April 09, 2012 - 11:35:39 PM »
There are so many questions we get here about how to do this and where is that; and how do I fix this regarding E body glass installation and parts.

We need a thread on identifying hardware, installing it, adjusting, and where the parts go in their perspective locations.

I took some pictures of my hardware layed out. This isn't all likely. But a majority of it.
Members here could contribute with pictures and any information.

I'll add more as I can from progress.

(If you add any pictures: Please use Imageshack or Photobucket so they won't be erased from the forum later on)

I figured out how to adjust the glass after the window is in so I can contribute a bit. Adjust the glass can be found in section 23-110 Body and frame of the 1970 book. Luckily Plymouth made these neat acces holes on the inside of the door 2 near the door latch upper portion of the door and 1 middle portion near the door handle and 2 on the upside of the door near the hinges. The 2 out board hole on the door are for adjusting the window stops and are easily accessed you need a special star hex for loosening these bolts. The window needs to be in the rolled up position so you can access the bolts through the holes in the bottom of the window pain near the support assembly. once loosend you can pull or roll the window up to the heighth needed to match the door seal on the body of the car. after adjusting lock them down. The inner access holes are for adjusting the lift channel which is the side to side. I ran into a problem and had to drill a hole to fully access one of the lift channel adjustment bolts.

Any chance you could label all the parts and pieces and make a list of what they are and where they go?

Actually maybe you could label them the same as the original Mopar parts lisiting call outs?

I have a PDF Version of these also if you want.

4speedfish just informed me that 70 quarter glass and 71-74 quarter glass on Cuda's are different.

The channel where the weatherstipping slides into aren't the same.
Both of us thought they're the same prior to finding out.

Could be the same situation on Challengers as well.

They look like they will still work.
They just screw onto the holes in the bottom of the window itself.

I'm in.  had not seen this thread.

I'll see if I have any pics that would help.

Throw a little pb blaster on those threads. I use a needle nose to go in the open grooves (hold onto the other end) and it should just unscrew (unbolt?)

If you need more I wonder if they are available individually from R/T specialties. I'd ask Dave at Roseville first though Tom is next to impossible to get a hold of.
I got the ones that go from the window crank mechanism to the window channel on my 70 Challenger individually?
