I took my car in for an alignment. I was told my right tie rod was bad, with my left being marginal. I was also told cars built on the LX platform are famous for premature wear of the tie rods. I never heard that before, but it was verified on Challengertalk.

So I'm giving a heads up to everyone else. My car only has 38K miles, but the after-market wheels that sit further out than the stock wheels aren't doing me any favors by aiding and abetting in the premature wear.

I've heard that some 300 owners have been rebuilding their front suspensions every 2 to 3 years.  Do the original parts have zerks?

I heard the same as well, but sooner, like every year one guy joked.  The guy at work had the SRT8 300C and had a lot of front end issues ranging to alignment issues, vibrations, front end parts wearing out.  He joked you basically have to rebuild the front end every year on his car.  Stock 20 rims if that makes a difference.

That's interesting.  I have just over 45,000 on mine and no problems what so ever.  And I live in Chicago and beat on my car.

Is anyone making heavier duty replacement pieces?

You can get greaseable moog parts from rock auto fairly cheap.  I have an 05 300 and have been through the front end on mine.  It has 84,000 on it.  Tension struts are also a problem on these cars.

Have not seen any here with the Challengers but the 05-07 LX's were bad along with a lot of others of those same years. I know I have put Moog ones in my 07 Aspen as they had been changed 3 times before I owned it, I only wanted to do it once.

On my 2008 rt I've recently had some bad vibrations but only under hard acceleration. Its hard to tell where it's coming from but it seems to shake the whole car. I'm thinking u joint or rear end vibration because the steering wheel hardly shakes at all. Everything looked ok when I put it on my buddies lift so Im not sure where to check. For you guys who have experience with the lx's any good place to start looking. I'm nervous about the chances that it's a transmission issue, although the car only has about 38k miles

Put 500 miles on the old girl this weekend.  46500 miles now.

Still has the original brakes and tie rods.  No issues.
