« on: April 12, 2012 - 08:28:07 AM »
Hey folks, I have searched the site and cannot find an answer. I just installed a reman power gear box in my 70 cuda, the steering coupler now is to loose. are there different size gear box shafts for different years?I nknow the pitmans can be different, I have a 73 gear box  and   a 70 column. Any thoughts?

It is possible to assemble the coupler with the shoes 90* out and it will work, but it will be loose. Check to see if that is the problem.

is the coupler tight on the steering box shaft ? there are 2 different sizes .
Or is the steering column shaft into the coupler loose there with the coupler tight on the shaft ?

There are 2 different sizes, one for power steering (smaller) and one for manual steering (larger) I do have several extras for the power steering (smaller) if you need one, I can let you have it for like $ 10 + shipping
