Removing 1/4 window glass
« on: April 15, 2012 - 10:29:18 PM »
:1zhelp: I am probably making this out to be more difficult than it is, but I can't figure out the easiest way to remove the rear quarter glass.   I have the inner panels and cat whiskers off, and looking in there they have more "works" than the door glass has, and with a lot less access.  I don't want to start removing bolts only to have something drop into the depths that I cannot reach.  If it is a real pain I am tempted to just leave the panes in there during the rotisserie resto.

Thanks

Take pictures and post them here as you dis-assemble them.
Put a rag stuffed below. I just lost a bushing today into the lower depths.  :banghead:

I tried... wish I'd of seen this thread... The guides are two-piece. They popped apart and fell into the depths.  A rag at the bottom would have saved me.  :walkaway:

the glass is easily removed
Step 1 ..... place a rag at the bottom , I have fished the parts out with a coat hanger ... Yes I have made the same mistakes
from there removing the bolts & slides is easy , take lots of pix , the tracks are moavble to adjust window fit
