what car is this grill from???
« on: April 21, 2012 - 11:03:53 PM »
A buddy of mine owns a wrecking yard and this grill has been hanging in the back of his shop for many years. We both have no idea what it's from? Like what make, model , and year?
Anyone know?

It's similar to a 69 Polara, but not exact. Some sort of c-body?

Similar, yes. I looked at a bunch of c-bodies for 69 and 71, but I couldn't find it.

If that is C-body grille, those headlights are at least 10" diameter

It's from Datsun 610 (or whatever the name is on different markets: 160B, 180B, Bluebird, etc...) maybe 1972-76 or something like that, at least 1973 looks same:

I had been thinking the same thing because of the shape of the headlight bezels.  Good job, Juha.

I'm not surprised at the result. The Japanese were really good, at the time, at copying successful American style. Flash forward 30 years, and everything looks like an Accord.

It's been hanging on the wall in a back room at my buddy's wrecking yard for years....? He had no idea what it's from either.  :grinno:

Well, I've seen people restoring K-cars, Omnis and early 80s Cavaliers, so there's no doubt in my mind that people are restoring these too. But if he doesn't find a buyer who wants the whole thing, ask him how much he'd charge somebody who's going to cut it up
