Different Ram
« on: April 22, 2012 - 10:20:16 AM »
We have been looking for a great priced 4 door Ram for 6-8 months. We found this one at a small town dealer 40 miles south of Fargo. It's an Off Road edition and has a HEMI with 3.92 rear sure-grip. We have put about a 1000 miles on it so far but the power over our old Ram 360 is very noticeable. I hooked the trailer to it just to see how it handled it. Again the power was very different. It just took off. I have now picked up a Superchips programmer and plugged in the tow/haul program. With the but dyno it really changed the low end power for the better. I hope it's as good as the last one. We had it 12 years but it didn't go far. We gave it to our son in law and traded his Ram on this on. His was a worry and we weren't sure how long it would be before it needed some major money spent on it. The dealer like it cause he said it would make a good farm truck for someone so I guess we were all happy! They had it sold in two days.

Yes it's a sure grip rear. My old one was a 392 SG also. I like the gears for towing my trailer. I made a light bar and added some lights to light up the dark back roads.

There should be a tag on the bottom side of the hood with that information.

Hi Brian,

Hows it going down south? I have a Cold Air setup just not on yet. I would like to get a set of headers sometime. I think they would help wake it up also. It's getting new exhaust sometime this summer. Just to quiet for me.

its  been going great thanks mine has the magnaflow 3" single catback i like it but it kinda drones as long as you keep the rpm under 2k its fine i did the AEM brute force intake it really makes that hemi sing.  Ive done a few different tunes ive got the predator tuner by diablo motorsport im set on the 87 octane tune seems to work really good i just towed a parts car about 120 miles and didnt even notice it and my mileage was the same vs no trailer good luck buddy enjoy their fun trucks

heres a pic of mine i added the stripes a few months back

The reason I asked was because the clips that hold the clutch packs crack / break. If you catch it early enuff its a cheap fix. Had a bunch @ the shop with that prob. After the fix your good for another gazillion miles!

^^ happened to my boss.  Not a cheap fix for him.

Cool deal on the truck.  The makeover in 02 and then the hemi in 03 made for awesome trucks.

I bought my '10 new and its a world apart from my '01.
