Good, thanks! Will the overcenter spring be required, if I decide to use a hydraulic clutch (for example american powertrain's hydramax)?
Is it possible to find out if it will be necessary to drill the crank shaft or shorten the input shaft before starting the conversion?
Thanks!

it is not possible to find out about the crank hole until it is apart , I would drill the crank , it doesnt even have to be centered exactly if you use the Dakota roller brg

Ok, thanks! After it's apart; can I find out by measurement or do I really need to try to fit the input shaft physically?
And what about the spring and hydraulic clutch?

no spring required for diaphragm clutches
You should be able to measure the depth in the back of the crank , someone here must have a 4 spd crank out & can confirm the depth .

Ok, thanks! As to measurement, in worst case I will just have to try out, but of course if anyone has the required numbers, please let me know.

I have two 440s out (one replacing the other) with the standard crank, both having the same measurements.
I took measurements and got this.
1  3/4" from center hole to hole lip. Or...
2  1/2" from center hole to end of crank.
I took a pic to hopefully show what I mean.
Hope this helps.

I'm sure it's gonna help. Thanks! If I measure the same depth I will know no drilling needed.

when cutting the floor for the 4speed tunnel hump do you need to cut the floor the size of the new tunnel hump. The new tunnel hump I ordered for my 4speed conversion is here..I just want to make sure when I cut the floor it should be the dimension of the new floor hump i'm putting in.

Don't quote me but I believe you want to leave the hole in the floor a bit smaller than the hump, that way you have some overlap to tack weld the new hump, then seal the edges.

Lay the hump in, scribe around it.  Then cut about 1/2-3/4" in from that leaving a lip to weld the hump to.

Anyone have issues with shifter rods that dont fit?  I got a brand new set from pg classics and  have to seek out originals now.. Are the quality of these reproductions questionable?

Hello guys! Currently I'm putting the A833 into my car. I'd like to ask if  a certain gear requires a certain velocity. With other words are the higher gears blocked on lower velocity?
Except that I noticed that it's pretty difficult to put the gears in, when compared to present transmissions. Is that normal for the A833?
