After sitting for 10 years at shows and trailers , the soft goods needed help, so here are some pics of progress of interior....engine bay after refresh, I am picky , so tell me if you see something thats not correct........ :smokin:

Because alot of you know the correct equiptmant for every year , I was looking for input on making sure I had the correct parts and finish on the car for the year. I will post final pics of the engine and interior for imput from the experts here!

Awesome job!  Looks all great!

I THINK plug wires should be black.  I know it's factory correct for many cars, but not a huge fan of a lot of seam sealer on the firewall, but your's looks like a lot of cars I've seen.

Also, a minor not, easily fixed is I'm pretty sure the end of the neg. battery cable near the block is painted w/the engine paint.  Maybe up to about 2-3" up the cable.

Just needs a pie pan for the air cleaner and you're pretty much set.

Do you know  if the reproduction correct spark plug wires will work ok with an updated electronic distributer....I was going to replace them but was not sure? Was the seam sealer you see what they did at the factory or is it wrong? :clueless:

Doing front end ball joints and left upper drivers side A arm, the one that is in it was bent when they intalled the bushings and the dummy installed it anyway and just a general refresh where ever she needs it........ I will start a link in the resto section and post progress....

As far as seam sealer, I've seen in many ways.  My preference (which may not be all that correct) is to have it completely removed from the outside and only put seam sealer on the inside, hidden, but I think it just depends who was working at the factory floor that day how much he used on any given car.

Yes, the new repop, date/part# coded spark plug wires should work just fine with electronic ignition.

Oh, I may be wrong, but I don't think the dipstick tube was painted???

Someone can correct me.  If true, then I would just remove the paint and clear coat it.

Probably the guy to as all this stuff is RestoRick (do a google search).  I think it's just www.restorick.com

i believe the dipstick is painted, tube and handle.

Here's some firewall shots of an OEM, reference restoration car.  Seam sealer poking through; again, it varies so you should be fine.

yes , most I see are wrinkle finish , but the stock stickers don't stay on, I think it should have been painted satin finish?, what year is the car in the picks......

1970 Challenger.  A bit diff w/all the AC stuff, but rest should be the same as non-AC.
