distributor cap questions
« on: April 25, 2012 - 03:33:59 AM »
So what is the best distributor cap to use, A B or C?  And does it make a difference?

A.  aluminum contacts inside
B.  brass contacts inside
C.  copper contacts inside
********************************************
And why do the newer caps have the extra button on top?  The old caps had just 8 plain old towers.

newer

old school

Larry, you want a cap with brass contacts. The aluminum contacts corrode very easily and are junk.
The extra "button" is actually a vent. Fine to use if you're not needing original look.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

For your car Larry, I'd use the MP one even though it has the vent.  It looks more correct then a black one.

Thanks Larry, I'll have to look up an Autozone this weekend when I'm down in Minneapolis for the car show.
