906 heads question

I have two spare sets of 906 heads, would like to keep one.   Any input on which to keep or what to look for ?  or are they the same.

My next stop will be to the "what's it worth" forum for the 906 heads I dont keep and a 1969 383 bare block that I dont need.

906 is a 906 , the thing to look for is how high the intake valves sit in the chamber , if they have not been rebuilt the seats should be high , not that it really matters , I would install hard seats anyway

I was not sure if they are date coded or why one of the sets is 906-1 and the other 906 with a maybe a timer logo.   

one set is factory blue and the other factory orange...  just different years I guess.

blue could be a low performance 2 bbl engine while the orange could be a magnum even the same year

Unless I'm mistaken the clock indicates the time of day the item was cast.  Usually there's a D or an N nearby with an arrow pointing to one or the other indicating AM/PM

On this intake for example (see the lower right):

It was cast at Night in the 7 hour so 7PM
