I don't see why  some have to argue  one word technology 
Now there's nothing like   driving a nice old nostalgic vehicle  its awesome  and rare  also i would like to note  for instance  some of these new unique   cars are limited editions  for instance my  2004 SVT cobra   there was only  so many made  how many  i'll show you  newer rides  are far more superior then older ones  they ride better, better fuel economy  more HP out of less cubic inch
As well they hook up hard.  I
f you don;t beleive me  go take a new Vette for a test drive   they fly   many new muscle cars  go well over  200 mph  stock       litterally no older rides  exceeded  160 mph  were talking 3400 - 4300 pound old cars  compared to  newer compositions     carbon fibre cars  lighter and stronger areo dynamic
 Now some will argue well the cost difference   lets look at a AAR hemi cuda  selling today what 200,000  what will it do in 1/4 mile  13's if your lucky and hook up  turn key cobra 12.6  price 52,000 new   and will run it every pass consistently with factory  street tires also note  that SVT means special vehicles  team  meaning  its a race car  when i had warranty  and raced it at track if something broke  it was under warranty  break somehing in a old car  its coming out of your pocket
takes some money to get a car into  12's   mark   then your looking at 10 k every second  faster after that
 where  the newer rides  add a  chip, add  pulley to  supercharger , exhaust  and now your   2 seconds faster  for like 2500.00- 4000
Don;t  get me wrong i love cruising in my old rides  but i also get a kick when i pull up at the set of lights in my cobra  an smoke the hell out of a old muscle car  as well  guess you can say   i got the best of both worlds

I agree with most of what you said. Two things I would add, though.

1 -   there's a thrill in driving whatever you're driving at its limit. Of all things, I loved my 93 Ford Escort; it handled like a dream. I loved both of my Gremlins.

2 - as we all know, lots of drivers have cars they can't handle, so having a car with more power or the potential for better handling doesn't guarantee a win. I once beat a 70 Cutlass 350 with my mother's slant 6 Charger, because the Cutlass driver wasn't any good.

owe i made a mistake  the AAR cuda  only does 14 seconds    lets look  at the vette    0 - 60 in 3 seconds     this is insane 
The carmaker starts out with a 505-horsepower 7.0-liter V-8 from the Z06 and adds the wheels, tires, and brakes from the ZR1. The Carbon's body kit includes black headlamp surrounds and black mirrors along with a ZR1-style body-color spoiler, a carbon-fiber raised hood, black carbon-fiber rockers, and a front splitter with a carbon-fiber roof available as well.
Despite its 133 horsepower disadvantage when compared to the ZR1, the Z06 Carbon's performance isn't far off that of its big brother, ripping to 60 in 3.7 seconds and burning the quarter mile in 11.6 seconds at 123.6 mph, compared with the ZR1's 3.3 seconds to 60 and 11.2 seconds at 130.5 mph in the quarter mile.

The Carbon also stops and corners just like its big brother, coming to a halt from 60 mph in 93 feet (97 in the ZR1) and lapping the Motor Trend figure eight in just 23.3 seconds with 1.07 lateral g (23.1 seconds and 1.10 lateral g in the ZR1).
There is no real weight loss in the Carbon compared with other Z06s, but the weight is distributed better, giving you more confidence to push it harder. But again, like the ZR1, when she goes, she goes quick, and your hands better be as quick dialing in that opposite lock to keep things pointed in the right direction.

Yawn. Most people like the older cars better. They turn there heads when they see an older car.
The novely wears off fast on a Newer Car. Sure the New Mustangs, Challengers and Camaros were exciting
when they came out, but there's nothing like going back to old school. Draws you in like a Magnet.
Plastic is just Plastic, just like every other boring car on the road today.
The technology is great though, like the difference between a P51D and an F18.

LOL.  I am sure this same argument was being made back in the early 70s about the new fangled Barracudas and Challengers.
