Z bar bracket location

Hey,
I'm after some pics and measurements of the location of the Z bar bracket on the LH chassis rail.
I have searched through the forum and found a few pics and one measurement, but they aren't the clearest, and the measurement doesn't seem to correlate with my car.
My car has a new chassis rail and doesn't have the location hole for the tab on the bracket.

Does the outer edge of the bracket touch the upright part of the chassis rail?
Is the bracket parallel with the centre line of the car, or with the chassis rail?

My bracket does not touch the up part of the chassis rail. The front of it is about 1/16" away from it.

Is the bracket parallel with the centre line of the car, or with the chassis rail?

The bracket is parallel with the drive line. Not the rail. It is further away from the rail at the rear of the bracket.

With my car all assembled, I tried but could not get good measurements. Hopefully someone in the restoration process (engine out)will get some good measurements for you.

Anyone out there got a stripped 4 speed car that they can measure up?
I'm hoping to get the bracket welded on asap.

The measurement I get from the forward notch in the frame rail to the bracket is 3 3/4". The other measurements I just can't get. But with the ball studs of the Z bar, it is not really critical to be extremely exact. If you center the bracket so you can access the outside ball stud nut from the wheel well through the somewhat oval hole, then make it parallel with the drive train with the bracket about 1/16" away from the upright part of the frame rail at the front edge of it, you should be good to go.

There should be a notch in the frame that a tab on the bracket sits in that will pretty much position it.

I'm in the same bucket as beck, new frame rails so no tab, and the pics are now gone. Can anyone help out with some key details? Or should I install everything and weld it on last?
