an old friends comes home...pix
« on: April 29, 2012 - 07:57:46 PM »
...about 25 years ago I purchased this Panther Pink T/A Challenger, kept it, showed it and drove it a little too...about 15 years ago I gave the car to my daughter and a Plum Crazy T/A Challenger to my son for them to use as a start in life...both kids kept the cars a couple of years and eventually sold them, the Plum T/A went about 50 miles from home and the Pink one stayed in town, purchased by a friend of mine

...time passes and about 8 years ago I purchased the same Plum T/A,  brought it home, and last nite the Panther Pink T/A returned home too...the owner, my good friend, passed away at Christmas and he had wanted the car to go back to me, and it did...I am very happy to have the Pink Panther back in my garage, I won't give it away again EVER, LOL

...I want to thank Karen and Scott for making this happen, and all their family members who had an attachment for the car, I thank you too...I am so happy to own the car, but I would rather see Jody driving it again this summer

...after the big cruise in town last nite (pix), the car was delivered to my garage

...first 2 shots, last nite on the street, magazine cover a few years ago, and decades ago in it's former life as a chrome laden show car

Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. Good to hear you have them both T/A's back, they look great. It's also amusing; where most of us may search for "the car I always regret selling" or even dad's old car (which bring back so many memories) - you go and bring home the first cars your kids had. How cool is that?  8)

YOu're lucky to have had such neat cars in your past and present.

Serves you right for giving those nice cars to your kids!   :nono:
