70 440 six pack r/t clone
« on: April 29, 2012 - 11:58:33 PM »
I bought this car in 2008 and made an expensive rookie mistake. at the time the market was still booming, the new challenger was released, and the value of the classic challenger skyrocketed. I decided I better get my challenger before they were forever out of my price range. I seen her on E-bay and my heart started racing. A 1970 Dodge Challenger w/ a 440 Six Pack R/T Clone that was according to the Seller 90% finished. LOL!!! :swear: So I rushed to get the loan approved and bought her going from the pictures and the sellers description because it was 1800 miles away and couldn't get to see her in person for $13,000 dollars plus $1000 for shipping from Florida to Utah :banghead: I am  finally getting to the point where i can start funding her progress. For right now I am trying to just make her a driver with a full body restore a couple years down the road.  I have received all of my new wiring harnesses, front power disk brake conversion, and some of my brake lines, fuel lines, gas tank so far and still have a lot more parts to go. :bricks1: I will be coming to Carlisle this year for a parts run hopefully. Looking forward to meeting you all there. I am glad I found this forum. You guys are all very helpful and knowledgeable. I will keep you updated on the progress as I go.

Welcome to the site and take consolation that YOUR car is miles ahead of MY car and a better year, too. Enjoy!

Thanks. Its not the car that upset me as much as the timing. Knowing now if I would have waited a year and been able to have a drivable one for the same price Just irritated me a bit but I guess that is just the way things are sometimes. Oops. Ijust have to do a little  :working: before i can  :burnout:. LOL!!!

What does it all need to be drivable?

How is the body in general?  Able to tell under that primer?

$13k + $1k...hard to say if you paid too much w/o knowing more about it.  Good luck and perhaps you didn't get burnt as bad as you think.

Looks good from here, but it's begging for some 15x10s and fatty 295s back there.
