Hello from CO
« on: May 01, 2012 - 05:14:53 PM »
How's it going everyone? Just wanted to introduce myself. I figure I have been stealing all the free advice for long enough. Just moved back to CO and have a 70 Challenger WSS. Its got a built 440 in now but I have the nm 383 sitting on a stand until I can find the time and motivation to do something about it. Anyone Colorado residents out there?

Welcome. We always ask for pics, but with a WSS I REALLY want to see pics. Lots of them.

Here are a few quick pics. The car is coded for FF4 Green, white interior, and white vinyl top but was painted about 18 years ago. Luckily I still have most of the original parts in storage including the trunk rack. The past week I stripped the entire interior down to bare metal to the firewall so I can coat some surface rust areas and fix some small projects on the dash and interior pieces. Its been quite a few man hours.

Nice car, looks like it is lots of fun.  Any pix under the hood or of the interior?

That is a nice car. Do you have any pics from back in the day in WSS trim?

I wish. I have never seen one in person just photos. I was lucky to get one that still had most of the WSS options still original with the car. I know its kind of a mystery to how many 383 Magnum WSS still exsist today but I can't image it being higher than a little over 100.

According to a couple of sites there were 381 of them made with 383s. My best guess is that 100 might be high. Are you going to restore it to WSS trim?

Welcome!

Yes there are a few of us here in Colorado. Some are more regular posters than others, but I'd say there are easily a dozen Colorado members.

I'm in the Springs myself as well. I may run into you sometime as this seems like this is the smallest half million person county in the world at times.
