Nuts!
« on: May 01, 2012 - 07:34:51 PM »
So, I spent hours pulling the rallye dash & switches out of my Challenger, installed a new limiter, quartz clock and bezel.  I painstakingly took my time; checked everthing out to ensure all guages & lights were working properly before reinstalling the bezel; put the switches back in and all worked fine.....   Too many times over the last 2 days did I get on my knees and twist myself on my back to lay on the floor with my head on the brake, shuffling a light and trying to get my arm up in ways it isn't supposed to move in order to unhook or hook up things.    All I could think at the time was:  "This is getting to be a young man's job"    ANYWAY, after many hours.....sore fingers, a back that still has kinks, etc.... I looked at my finished product - turned the key to check things out (again), feeling good about the job -- and then NUTS - I noticed that the darn left turn signal indicator bulb had somehow fell out of the socket.   :22yikes:

um, you dont lay on the carpet to hook up the dash. It will make you sore. So much easier to sit in the seat and pull the dash.  Al though, being the left turn sig, you should be able to reach that bulb easy enough looking under. Since the speedo is right under the center and the bulb is an easy reach.

practice makes perfect :swaying: :misbehaving:

Moparal.     Agree, the dash is taken out from the front ..... but I had also pulled the A/C switches, radio, etc. .....      BUT - today was another day and my nature is not to leave something half done - so in a relatively short time, I pulled the dash panel and fixed the left turn signal and now all is well again with the world

Except..... my wipers won't park (but I think that's an unrelated issue....  )

i know the feeling , i have pulled the dash apart 3 times in the last 6 months do to wiring issues. This time i replaced the dash harness so i thinking 3rd time is a charm. Also since its my first e-bodie my wife said the Lord wanted me to know the car inside and out.LOL
