Interviewed for The Muscle Car Place online podcast
« on: May 02, 2012 - 12:10:06 PM »
Hey all, I just got off the phone with Rob Kibbe from http://www.themusclecarplace.com/. He interviewed me about my book. It was a lot of fun and he's a really nice guy. He said it'll be "aired" sometime in May but didn't have the exact date. The podcasts are available from iTunes.

Very cool!
Congrats! Please forgive me if this is old news. What is the book about?
Best,
Dan

Thanks, I didn't post anything about it because I thought my signature had the links/info in it. For some reason my sig is now blank.

Oh well. The book is called Prepare to be Judged - How to get your Car Ready for Show. You can find it on Amazon and other online resellers. It's about all the prep needed to be in a judged show though it's more than that. It doesn't really matter if you're in a show or not, it will help you maximize the presentation of your car.

When I've spoken to people about car shows/trophies/judging etc, there are a number of interesting responses like: "I don't go to shows for the trophies", "My car is a driver", "That's too much work/detail for not much benefit", "My car is for me, not the judges". While I'm sure these statements are true, the principles in my book still apply.

For my car, I'm building it to drive/cruise etc and I'm not going to be polishing the underside of the car. With that said, I am focusing on the details for myself, especially when it doesn't cost any more to do so.

I think I gave more detail than you were asking but I've been thinking about this for a while and have other thoughts too. I think I'll turn this into a blog post...

When I get the date of the podcast, I'll let everyone know.
Thanks.
