Cleaning Old Never used plug wires.
« on: May 03, 2012 - 12:39:06 AM »
Bought these years ago just pulled em out of the bag. They surpossedly were origional sparkplug wires from ages old. Well upon closer inspection noticed the brass is alittle oxidized and there seems to be a little build-up in the plug connector. Should I stick a bore brush in there to clean it out or is there some kind of solution I can soak the end in to clean the connection without damaging, (the seems to be brass). I would really like to use the origional wires. Sorry cruddy pics and focus not so good on close in shots.

White vinegar should clean that right up.  Make sure to use some dielectric grease when you install them.

I always used of lubricants like kerosene and petrol to clean these parts..

Burdar is right on the money. Dielectric grease does wonders.
If I cant fix it, it's broke
