Thanks RDF.
Engine block got dropped off at the machinist today
Friend came around and we installed the headliner. Took our time and very pleased with result. We gave ourselves 10/10 for the front and 8/10 overall. Pleased with the way the replacement plastic panels for the windshield piller fitted. Pics don't do the jod justice.

Friend came out and brought his buffing wheel. Watched CODY's  SS buffing video and may some good progress. We also managed to fit the rear quarter windows. Got the inner and outer moldings/trim on door openings. Having trouble getting new rubbers to stay in. They seem to be too soft/flexable. Get one edge in and other one pops out. Any one used these brand of rubbers or any tips to get them to stay in.
Been working on replacing every wire in the enginebay harness and putting steering column back together. Can not remember where this small spring goes. Any ideas ?

I had to use a little weatherstrip adhesive to hold the window weatherstripping inplace.  I test fit the original piece and it stayed inplace just fine.  The new stuff fell right out.  The adhesive worked.

That spring is for the key lock reliece.  The part of the column that has the sticker "To Remove Key-Depress Lever and Turn Key".  It's the spring that hooks to that.  Unfortunately I don't have a pic of how it hooks up inside the column.

Found it's home, thanks Darren.
Made the desision to put the dashcap on and do it myself. Used an expanding foam (in a can) to fill the holes and build it up. Used my body skills and shaped dash so cap would be a snug fit. Used silicon and contact glue to attach them together. Very happy with the result.
Got all the interior panels out , gave them a clean and scuff ready for a paint. They had been painted white by previous owner. Weather was great so painted them and dash.
Engine builder has ported the heads and given them a valve grind. Block has been machined and crank may go in this week.

Thanks for following my project GranCuda1970. I am surprised a what I have achieved. Will give most things a go.
Mocked up my dash and all looks good including the cap. Stripping the paint off the vents with brake fluid. Had to give them a slight file to get them to fit.
Got the last of my panels back from painter, 2 valances and header. Look great.

Trying to get the dash together so I can get it in  . Used some white and silver paint to get heater control looking good. Friend fixed my broken speedo needle. Turns out to get the needle off you remove the speedo unit, hold the barrel with one hand and grab the needle with the other and twist. He unpicked a spare needle and swapped them.
Questions; pic 3 ; any thing bolt on here. 2 studs (circled) on steering column bracket.
pic 4 ; where do these wires attach ? ashtray light ?
pic 5 ; what does a non broken one of these look like. Is my heater switch.
pic 6 ; hearter plug ? where does it go

Pic 6

It goes on the lower right hand corner of the dash frame.  The plastic pin goes through a hole in the frame and you twist it 90 degrees to hold it inplace.

Let's see here:

Just looked at mine and I have them as well, but after looking at my dash frame I don't know what mounts there....hmmm

pic 4 ; where do these wires attach ? ashtray light ?
That is the switch panel light, it attaches to the bottom of the switch frame

pic 5 ; what does a non broken one of these look like. Is my heater switch.
Yeah looks like you need a new switch, did that sucker burn off?

pic 6 ; hearter plug ? where does it go
That looks like the horn relay
