More. Using a very sciencetific process (above pics), my head chambers were measured and we have 8.6:1 compression. Builder wants to take 40 thou off heads and get 9.6:1 .

For stock heads, 9.5 to 1 is a good ratio for the gas that's available.

She is looking good! My motor should be done this next week and I think I'll stuff her in when I get her as I don't have much room to store it!

More progress.
Got the dash in . Back out today so I can repaint it a little less glossy. All wiring conects well and heater vents match up.
Have got both doors on. Drivers is finished. Drip rail rubber in, did have to use some adhesive to hold it in. Will get pasg door finished today. Had to make up some glass sliders from blocks of nylon and other bits. Works well.
Repaired my speaker grill.
Cleaned up manifolds.
Cut some thin board to separate cabin from trunk.

Decision was made that the dash and interior panels were too glossy. Took 2 goes to get the paint flat enough, but looks much better.

Thanks for the comments guys.
I look at my diary at it has been 2yrs since my car rolled out of the container.
Engine is ready to pick up on Monday. Hope to paint it Tuesday, then in soon after that. Some pics of before pushrods went in and valve covers on. Had to double the gaskets as rockers were touching.
Painted some clear on the bits I didn't want to colour.
Gave the tranny a good clean and painted couple of small bits. Pan was surface rusty , nice and clean now. Tempted to paint it.
I like to give things a go , so got my mother to give me a hand and we recovered the rear seats with the Ledgendary Interior covers. I am very pleased. Took a few hours , but worth it. Front seats will be more work but keen to try.
Had a freak accident with the window regulater. It was in the door awaiting the glass. A friend was working on the lock and as he closed the door there was a huge bang and the rail that attaches to the glass was thrown out  of the door , hit the garage roof and landed on the floor. Dented the drip rail chrome and took small bit of paint off. Turns out the regulator spring was on the wrong way on. A  nylon  bush also gave way. Took some force to get spring back on and wound up enough. Hope that doesn't happen again.

Thanks Dutch. Still need her to help with front seats.
Got engine back and have painted her ready to put it in. Left the intake unpainted to start but have seen the light and have now painted it. Have painted the exhaust manifolds with a gold metalic. The gold will burn off and leave the metalic flakes. Heres hoping.

Looks great! I'm liking your engine stand and engine hoist fabrications!  :2thumbs:
I'd toss that fram oil filter and get a WIX on there..... just my 2 cents... I've seen too many of those frams collapse and cause low or no oil pressure.

Engine is in, went smoothly apart from one engine mount. No loss of paint so very happy. Have now got alt. and power steering in, and have laid out my wire harness. I replaced each wire and now have to cut them to length.
Got the vinyl roof trim attached via 70 model method of using bolts.
