Hey, hey! (added pic)
« on: May 10, 2012 - 11:41:31 PM »
Hello fellow 'Cuda brothers!

I just wanted to give a quick introduction.

I just picked up a 1972 'Cuda project car, she is in need work, but that is ok with me.

Not quite sure which direction the project will take, as the car has no motor or transmission.

I think an OEM look is what I want.

My uncle had found the car while he was driving way out north somewhere in the middle of nowhere Saskatchewan. He picked it up in Oct '11. I was very very jealous that he found such an amazing car... I told him that day "if you ever want to sell it, think of me first..."   Last Saturday he came over and said to me "Yea I'm going to sell that 'Cuda.  I don't have the time for it."

I said "I sure do, I'll buy it! sell it to me!"

I just happened to have a wad of cash laying around the house because I was dealing on purchasing a new car (daily driver)...  I put the money on the table new 100's, and said here you go.

He said you better come check it over better, but I had already looked it over the day he brought it home in the fall and knew it was worth what he was asking.

Monday, I had a good look over the car, and as we were wring up the bill of sale, that song "crazy" was play on the tv, I said to him, You are crazy to sell this car.

Came with an extra Grill, and numerous other part.

Just need some power to get her rolling.

Anyone around Sask / Man with an engine for sale?

Is there a V21 on the fender tag?

Saddly the inner fender have been removed I think the car was set up for stock car racing...

What is the V21 code, I assume its for something super rare?

Is there anywhere else the tags can be found on the car? I see a few wrapped around the rear seat.

It's a black out hood treatment. Besides the tag which you know is the build sheet. But since this was setup for racing small chance you'll find it.

72 cuda only option. Pretty rare.

Cool car.   I can't wait to watch the restoration.   Lots of good folks on this site to ask questions if you need it.

Hello and welcome to the site.  Your Cuda seems to be in decent shape.  I hijacked your picture and reloaded it so it's more viewable.

Hi, HooD thanks for changing the pic to normal size.

and everyone else for the warm welcome.

More great news to add, my brother in law has a 70 something Challenger and has a spare parts car at his farm. I had a look at what is left on his parts car, and found quite a few of good bits. Wiring, steering column and nicer chrome around the windshield than what I have.
The parts car is pretty rough, tons of rust and I heard the frame is rotted.

Back in the bush at my place I knew we had parked a 72 Dodge Monaco there in the car graveyard. I went out there today and had a look at it. To my surprise it is in very very good condition (even had the original owners manual and spare tire cover). Now I know this may sound really bad and may even get me booted off this forum. But... could I swap some of the parts out of the Monaco into the Cuda? I mean parts like coolant over flow/ washer reservoir, electrical parts... I assume a lot of the parts would be common / shared along all dodge models of that year. but please correct me if I'm wrong or if this is pure blasphemy.

Thanks in advance

Hey, if you can get the parts to fit, who's to say no? When my cars done, I'll be lucky to have a third of it original, so don't look to me to throw the first stone and i don't think anyone else would either.  :2cents:

I would hardly think that you would get kicked off the forum for swapping out a few parts.  There are probably lots of interchangeable parts.  Heck, I would pull the wiring out my house walls if I needed it to fix my car.  lol  A story for a diffenent thread is how I did just that.  Some other time.
