70 cuda prices

If you want to make an investment, in my opinion, this is the wrong place.  You always end up spending more money than you wish with these cars, and I wouldn't count on making money off it.  Go somewhere else for an investment.  However, if you want a great car and really do enjoy the hobby then do whatever feels right to you.  $ money $ doesn't go with us in the end, use it to enjoy life!

Is this a REAL SHaker car?  Got documentation to prove it? 

this was my first red flag. i thought in 1970, you could only get a shaker hood on a Hemi or a six-pack. 340's came with the regular bulge hood.
i'm 80% sure of this.

just checked my sources and he said that VERY late model 70's could get a shaker, like cars built in June or July. i'd check the build date on the car.

 There were very few true 1970 340 shaker cars made They are even rarer than a true 1971 340 shaker car ! If this car is a real one numbers matching motor ect it would be an incredibly rare find.
  To answer the question of no 70 340 shaker cars pull out your parts manuals the 1970 340 shaker baseplate was a different part number than the 71 340 the two cars used different carbs which changed the height of the baseplate
  Last year there was a 70 340 shaker cuda at alot of the big shows had just been restored by a shop and they were using it to promote their work

S car to S car comparison? how many "Cuda" cars were made both years and option available, you may see 70-71 are close in production, Price guides show the 70's to be stronger?

I think these numbers are correct or close to. Pretty sure at least the AAR number is.

I guess no one has one of them GG books.

I don't see why anyone with family/health/money problems would blow $37k only to turn it around for either the same money or a few thousand more.

This is not a good idea no matter how nice the car is.

There are few people that can afford to shell out $40k these days.

thanks to you all for the come backs i no its a little high, but i was going to keep it for a year or two and then sell it. i need to make a little because of health problems and can't leave the family in a lost does any one think its possible for 40,000. in two years thanks Greg

In your situation, the car needs to be a STEAL for you to be able to flip it in case you need money FAST.

Unless this is a #1 condition, fully documented Shaker four-speed car, I would seriously pass and maybe do a bit in introspection on whether a musclecar toy is the right purchase in your situation.

 I was there all week and a ruge  hemi Matching car , needed  some refresh (stronge 2 car) 85K.......If you dont mind giving it to your wife, or driving a pink car what a steal!!!!

Ditto - it better have the fender tag, build sheet, all body numbers matching, and be nicely detailed underneath & under the hood. A 340 4 speed shaker car is really cool but it has to be near perfect for that money these days.

   That car needs to be perfect for that price.  I've been watching Barrett-Jackson and have seen several gorgeous Challengers go for the low to mid 30's.  There have been some real steals this year.

you would need complete documentation from build sheet and fender tag  for everything and from a good appraiser just to think about the asking price ,,personally 23k would be good if its legit,,these days and economy its just not there  ,, there is no profit at that price unless you can wait 50yrs before resale
