Well, if your not mechanically inclined, and don't have any propper tools to repair or diagnose, then you may want to take it to a noteable trustworthy shop. Sounds kinda like a fuel/vapor/ carb bleed down situation to me, flooding it out and fouling plugs, but I do not have a clue as to what engine you have, what condition it is in, if it's modified or anything else. It can be multiple problems. You need to give as much history info on your car n egine as you know, to go any deeper with a diagnose from anyone here.
Points, or electronic, 2 bbl, or 4 bbl, old fuel in rusty tank, high mileage on engine with stretched timing chain, fouled spark plugs.....you get what i'm saying? A bad set of points, ballast, bad cap, rotor, coil, or alot of other things can be an issue. Fuel and all it's componets can cause issues.
