    Since it looks like I'm ready to pull the trigger on my Rallye wheels I've been wondering what tires most folks run nowadays. In days past most folks ran the BF Goodrich TA radials which were great for burnouts for pretty pathetic for any handling. Some folks went the Comp TA route while others went with the Yoko, Nitto and Pirelli brands.

    So chime in and tell me what you are running and how do you like them?

    Dunlop GT Qualifiers, but they're available in limited sizes.

    Cripes! It seems to be a problem when putting a classic look on a Cuda and running 60 series tires!

    Everyone has moved to larger rims making the tire manufacturers follow them.

    Seems like if you want to go 15 inch rim then you are stuck with BFG's.... blahhhh

    Yes I want my tires to match all the way around, I had a nasty accident when I mixed and match front and rear.

    For the classic raised white letter look, Firestone Firehawk 500, Cooper Cobra, or Mickey Thompson ST. For blackwalls with higher speed ratings and better grip, Mickey Thompson SR or Maxxis MA1 Marauder.

    I just switched to Nitto 555's.  I like them so far.  They are really quiet compared to my Bridgestone / Fuzions.

    Found the Coopers in 15" but they are only T rated for speed.

    Don't think you will find 15" tires and high performance. They have been left behind.  :2cents: But if I was set on 15" tires, I'd go Firehawks.

    Just looking on tirerack.com I see the selection of the firestone Indy 500 is dwindling? I don't see my front 235/60/15 listed anymore?  :eek4: I have these tires and am really happy with them. I hope it's just tirerack and not Firestone that is the problem?
    I'm not a fan at all of BRG t/a tires  :puke:

    REading this post with much interest as I'll soon be buying tires, Question is should you try and match overall diameter on front and back? I'll be putting something on SS Cragars 15" 8" rear 6" front  going for that "old school", back when i was alot younger look.  So after reading this I kind of like the coopers 275-60/15 r and not sure about the fronts yet,  maybe something around a 215 or 225?70    help

    No, it doesn't matter beyond looks and fitment.

    I'm running a 235/60R15 up front on a 15x7 and a 275/60R15 in the rear on a 15x8.  The 275s with a 3.55 rear are great even with my BFGs.

    Well after I sourced my Firehawks yesterday I will announce whats going on with them. The Firehawk Indy line specifically the 275-60-15s and the 235-60-15s are going to be discontinued. I don't know if the whole line will be but I was told that the announcement came out in Jan 2012.

    I don't like the BFG as well but besides MT/Cooper there might not be much more choices going forward. Maybe we should start making our own since every rice rocket now wants 22" rims.  :faint:
