New Charger Fan

While in Memphis this week I rented a brand new Charger and I've got to say even with two extra doors I am now a big fan!  Great riding and handling car, not for the Autocross maybe., but around town it ruled.  Several times I looked down and caught myself doing 80 MPH and felt I was going much slower.  The Charger carved up traffic too, maybe too well because Memphis has very active police and I'm going to end up getting a ticket if I keep renting these things.  If the new Challenger drives as good or better I'm going to be looking at one real hard.  Who knows, maybe I can get the wife to pick a Charger for her next  car.

A few weeks ago I did the same thing it was the 6 cyl version and i really liked, it ok gas mileage and it could really go.

For the money as far as a 4 door sedan, rear wheel drive and a V8, it's a decent deal, IMO. 

I rented a Mercury Marquis with a V8 and it really was disappointing how blah it felt.  Good for around town/taxis and comfy, but not very sporty....

Love the looks and the new 8 speed with the new v-6 gets 31mpg highway and 0-60 in 6.6 seconds.

Not bad for a 4000 pound car. My wife actually wants a hemi challenger, but I say go for the new Charger (not last years 5 speed). She doesnt like the looks, but how can you not like a car equipped with leather, nav, sport this and that, and looking like this with the blacktop package at about $32-$33k out the door:

I have an 06 Charger and nothing humiliates a Rustang guy more than when you roll down the back window to laugh at him. When I was driving from Canaduh to Jacksonville I averaged 28 mpg at roughly the speed limit with a few bursts up to 150-180

us a tank of fuel     still have the 1994 20th annv Pontiac TA. 37thous mile only.  Dodge is 15yrs late bringin them back.....for me.........

That's gorgeous!  I'm going to have to show that to the wife .... of course she doesn't trust me to recommend her cars anymore, she believes I just suggest cars that are really for me!  Can you believe that?

who wouldnt love getting a deal on a car like that! 
Local dealers though want the usual "market adjustment" 
but, probably like most of us, I usually take my time and end up with a good deal one way or another, even if it means traveling to get it. More than once I bought cars from hundreds (once even 1200) of miles away because the local dealers werent dealing. Then when I would bring it in for service, they would ask why I didnt buy from them!?
Hopefully the wife will come around too. Still working on that part

Yeah, I hear people like that when I bring my car in for warranty stuff, makes you wonder if they'll take care of your car or not.  Actually both warranty times I had the car in I had issues with the techs taking the car for a joy ride or something as it wasn't in the lot when I came to pick it up.

Glad to hear some positive about the Charger.  I hear a lot of negative (mostly about the 4 doors).  I think these cars are really underappreciated.

I have an 06 Daytona Charger and love it.  I wanted a Challenger but they were nowhere near release when I needed a car.  Always thought I'd trade the Charger for a Challenger but I just can't do it.  I'll probably get a Challenger eventually but right now I won't get rid of the Charger to get one.  Same goes for the new Chargers.  I guess I just get to attached to my cars sometimes.

The Charger always puts a smile on my face, it feels like it was built just for me.  Any doubters need to take one for a drive.  Challenger/Charger? 2 Doors/4Doors?  That's a personal choice, but I would suggest you drive both...then go for a ride in the back seat of both.

I really have no issue with the Charger as a car , the disappointment is the name , they could have called it a Coronet !! If you need a sedan it is a great car , it is probably the best Cop car available & I am sure they had that in mind when they built it as well . even the big Hemis get close to 30 MPG so why not buy the Hemi over the V6 , they handle brake & drive well . The look is good for a sedan , I hate the LED tailights try changing one when they start burning out , probably will be very expensive & obsolete shortly LOL .
Pesonally I have no use for a sedan , never have or will though .
