906 heads for 440
« on: May 17, 2012 - 07:59:07 PM »
Exactly what are the crescent shaped openings in the middle of the intake side of the head for?  What about the oval shaped opening inside the crescent shaped hole?  Do these just stay open when installing an aftermarket intake?  Can they be filled for aesthetic purposes?  I am quite sure this has been asked somewhere in the 300 or 400 pages but I ran out of time looking.
Thanks,

they isolate the heat crossover passage through the intake from the rest of the head . No reason to fill them
